{Edmonton Family Photographer} Fall Mini Sessions
July 21, 2010{Lacombe Maternity Photographer} Taryn
July 19, 2010I always love a good maternity session, and while I have done many studio maternity sessions, I have never done a full fledged maternity session outdoors. And I wanted to! So I put out a model call on my facebook fan page (become a fan by “liking” our page if you haven’t done so already), requesting a willing expecting mom and Taryn answered my call! I have to say that I really, really enjoyed this session. At 37 weeks, not only did Taryn look amazing, but she was a trooper, willing to walk all around to try a few fun locations. We battled with the sun a little, but we got some great shots and I can’t wait to do this type of session again! Thanks so much Taryn for the great evening! It was so nice to meet you, and I wish you lots of luck with the upcoming arrival of this little one!!

{Red Deer Child and Family Photographer} Bella
July 19, 2010Meet sweet Bella! This little doll was so sweet and beautiful. And I mean BEAUTIFUL! Her parents are going to be in trouble when she is older! With amazing eyes, and a sweet smile, Bella kept three of us on our toes. Like a typical one year old, she enjoyed crawling away from the camera. And boy is she fast. And while she had recently taken a step here and there for her mom and dad, we were lucky enough to capture her taking what I believe were her first BUNCH of steps. It was awesome!!

{Lacombe Grad Photographer} Candice and Lindsay
July 19, 2010Senior or grad photography is HUGE in the states. And I have to say, this is an area in which I’d like to do more work!! Graduating from high school is a huge accomplishment and should be documented with more than your normal cap and gown pictures! Grads with their unique personalities, are simply so much fun to work with! Game for anything to get the perfect shot, grads allow photographers to really play and creatively explore. It’s so much fun.
I met with Candice and Lindsay the day before their graduation ceremonies to get a few shots of them in their beautiful dresses. Though we weren’t able to get crazy creative for fear of getting their dresses dirty, we were able to grab some classic shots of these two beauties!!

These two girls were my grad representative this year. To learn how you can get a complimentary session and earn free prints, please drop me an email! I am still looking for a few of next years grads from various schools to become an ambassador for the grad side of Head Over Heels Photography!!
{Destination Wedding Photographer} Kylah and Ryan
July 16, 2010Well, I have been back from the Dominican Republic for a couple weeks now and I’m playing catch up! But what a wonderful time I had with a great group of people. I feel so incredibly honored to have been asked to travel with Kylah and Ryan to capture their beautiful wedding! The resort was incredibly beautiful and I got some amazing shots. Such a photogenic and gorgeous couple…how could I not be pleased with the results!!
Thank you so much Kylah and Ryan for inviting me along and including me as part of the group! I can’t wait to do another wedding like this again some day!
Below are a few only! I took a ton of pictures down there and am still going through them all in between all my other sessions!

{Lacombe Wedding Photographer} Taryn and Mark
June 24, 2010Almost two weeks ago, this beautiful couple got married in Lacombe. It rained the whole week prior, but we were blessed with a hot, sunny day (though cloud would have been nice photographically speaking). It was a beautiful ceremony, filled with emotion. Mark is a passionate volunteer firefighter for the Lacombe Fire Station, and he was able to snag one of the trucks for some photos! The day was a lot of fun, and I wish Taryn and Mark all the best in their future!

{Edmonton Child Photographer} Sweet Jordyn
June 6, 2010I have had the pleasure of capturing memories for this family for over a year now. I first met them when their first girl was 6 months old, and have since seen a radiantly pregnant mom, the beauty of a newborn and now the fun of another 6 month old! Jordyn is a most adorable little girl. Identical in looks to her sister at this age, Jordyn has a beautiful smile and a slightly more serious side to her as well. She was a proper super model for me and I hope you enjoy the sneak peak into this session!

{Lacombe Family/Child Photographer} Dina and George
June 2, 2010I love going back home, and one of my favorite places to eat in the whole world is Leto’s in Lacombe. It has a great atmosphere and even more amazing food, and I used to eat there more than I’d like to admit. And that is how I met this family. Meet Dina and George! With beautiful eyes and playful personalities, these two certainly know how to work the camera! We sure had a great time, both inside and out for this session!!

{Lacombe Child Photographer} Brooklynn
June 2, 2010Wow! I can’t believe this little sweetheart is 6 months old already. I walked through the door expecting the little girl that I met when she was a mere 30 minutes of age…or the girl that I photographed when she was 6 weeks old. Instead, I was met with a smiley, interactive sweetheart who is growing up way too quickly!
I really enjoyed my afternoon with Brooklynn and her mom! She was pretty serious for us, and I’m sure people would have laughed at us and our attempts to get her to laugh! But, it made for a fun session!

Musings…
May 21, 2010The other day I went to see my Grandma! At 89 years of age, this woman simply amazes me. She still lives in her own home, and with help is able to maintain a beautiful yard that is the envy of town. She’s a wonderful lady.
For months…even years…I have been meaning to bring my camera down with me and do a full blown session with her. I want to take pictures of her hands, of her face and of her yard. Those 89 years hold a lot of stories and while I may never know all of them, I want to have some great images of my grandma. Something to be able to look at and reminisce.
I brought my camera with me the other day. And she didn’t want me to take her picture. Because she wasn’t ready. Which really got me thinking… if we were to wait until we were perfect, would we ever get our pictures taken? There simply is never the perfect opportunity. So, I explained to her that I don’t want THE perfect picture. I just want a nice picture to display in my home. Because I never know what might happen between now and the next time I’m able to make it down. And while she assured me nothing would happen, you just never know. With anyone. So, away she went to change into some different clothes and this is what I got…

I have always loved photography. I come by it honestly in that my mom was a photographer while I was growing up. The pictures that I have of my friends and family mean everything to me! I love the feelings they evoke, the days gone by of which I am reminded. If I lost my pictures, I’d truly feel as though I lost a part of myself. Rather than being decorated with random pieces of art (as beautiful as they may be), my home is decorated with the faces of the people I love. Because every time I look at a cluster of pictures, I can’t help but smile and count my many blessing. And that is truly why I do what I do. I love to make people smile when they see pictures of their babies, of their families and of themselves. I know that pictures will forever be cherished and I’m proud to be able to help capture those all important milestones.
I will be going back to do a full session with my Grandma. One in her yard once all her beautiful flowers and trees are in bloom. But until then, I know that I have a great image of my grandma, outside and completely feeling at ease…and for that I am thankful.
