It's Christmas…my favorite time of the year made all the more magical now that I have kids!
From Head Over Heels, we wish you all a very Merry Christmas and all the best in 2009! Thank you to everyone who has been part of our new venture. I consider our beginning to be a big success, and both Vanessa and I are looking forward to an exciting year to come!
This past weekend I was invited to photograph this incredibly happy, incredibly cute little boy. He was adorable, and smiley and all that I love when photographing babies. His smile was infectious and I found myself laughing out loud several times during this session.
Well, today I had my last session until the new year. I am working hard at finishing everything up before Christmas, and I am looking forward to some rest and relaxation with my family. I read. I read alot. These days I read a lot about photography and in my "travels" on the internet, I've come across many photographers who donate their time to various organizations. I've also come across one photographer who is challenging others to pay it forward. So, in the spirit of the holidays, I am accepting her challenge. But I need your help.
I am looking for nominations for families who are deserving of a free portrait session from myself. These individuals must live somewhere between Red Deer and Edmonton. These individuals may not be able to afford a custom photographer, but should be an inspiration to those around them.
So, email me your nominations. Write me a short note as to why they may be deserving of a portrait session from myself. The winner will receive a custom session from myself (Krista) in the spring, when the weather is nice enough to have an outdoor session (unless a newborn/maternity session is requested). Nominations close January 15th, 2009.
Well, Sunday we met up with some friends for a nice visit and to get some photos of their nephew before he moves with his family to Germany. An adorable little boy, Rowan kept me on my toes. He was busy and found his little island of seamless paper to be quite entertaining! Good luck with everything guys!!

Yesterday I was given the opportunity to photograph sweet, little Sophie. She was a content little girl, but despite our efforts, we had a hard time getting her to smile. She was so serious. But cute she was nonetheless…and I especially fell in love with her tutu and the most adorable brown knit hat her mom and picked up for her! I need to go shopping!

After a few technical glitches I am finally able to post a few photos from the session I had this past Wednesday with sweet little Mikayla and her mom and dad. This 6 month old is pretty close to being on the go…but she was a trooper and two hours went by awfully quickly!
